Kent Narrows is a laid-back waterfront location on Maryland’s eastern shore. It’s 5 miles east of Chesapeake Bay Bridge. It’s a great destination for a day or weekend getaway. The Chesapeake Bay is visible from almost all directions. It’s also close to popular destinations on the Eastern Shore like St.Michaels MD.
Kent Narrows Waterfront used to be home to dozens of commercial packing houses. Today, only one of these commercial seafood packing houses remains. This charming waterfront destination is known for its sunsets and scenery, as well as fresh oysters and crabs. It also has a number of small shops and restaurants.
Kent Narrows, a small and easily walkable area of land, is divided into four sections by two bridges. If you prefer to drive, it’s just a two-minute drive from one side of Kent Narrows to the other. If you want to be in the heart of convenience, then stay at Fisherman’s Village on the south-east side of Kent Narrows.
You can stay at the recently opened waterfront Hyatt place Kent Narrows & marina, and then walk to several restaurants and bars such as the dockside Fisherman’s Crab Deck or the Fisherman’s Inn that is home to Eastern Shore’s most extensive collection of antique oyster dishes.
The local parks and trails are a delight for nature and bird lovers. It’s not uncommon to see seabirds like herons flying by, or turtles swimming in the water. Take a sunset cruise or a fishing charter to experience the bay from a distance. You can also go kayaking, paddle boarding, or on a sunrise cruise. There’s also nothing wrong with taking in the view from a hotel balcony!
Kent Narrows offers a variety of choices for boaters. There are marinas with full service, hotels that offer a full range of services, and restaurants where you can dock and dine.
