I’d definitely lose my head if it wasn’t attached. When I’m getting ready to leave, it usually involves a full on scavenger search for my phone, keys, bag, and anything else that might be needed. I’ve never been good at keeping track of things.
After a few days of fun and sightseeing in northern California, I headed back to San Francisco’s airport. No traffic, gorgeous day, beautiful scenery. I grab a piece of chocolate from my bag. Some girls just need their chocolate.
I was driving so I quickly turned around to grab my bag on the backseat. I didn’t notice it right away so I turned around several times. Hmm? Then I ask my friend if he could grab it because it’s probably too far behind me. He says “I don’t see” it. What is …??!? ?
Some say that if you are in a traumatic car accident, your life will flash before your eyes. It can also happen if you lose your wallet, money and credit cards right before you board a flight. Yes, I could replace all the items in the bag. The bag was purchased on a trip I took to Paris about ten years ago. It would be difficult to replace the bag. The bag was a souvenir from my favorite trip and I had taken it with me on every journey since. How would I get on the flight without my driver’s license?
I thought that I would pass out as a thousand thoughts started to race through my head. Where could I possibly have left it? Someone stole it from my car. Should I turn my car around? I stopped at ten different places on that day. After I realised that I might never find my bag if it was lost, I became more concerned. I was also going to miss my flight because I only had my wallet as identification. What a nightmare! !
When I heard the casual “Oh, here it is,” I felt like I had just won the lottery. As soon as I saw my bag, a wave of relief washed me over. It was on the floor, wedged under the driver’s seat.
