Some people have it in their nature to color-code their closets and arrange their ducks, but not me. I have realized that I am in need of some assistance when it comes time to deal with my finances. I also need to set some financial goals to get myself on track to retire. If I want to retire.
Since the end of the summer I have decided to organize my life in every aspect. Recently, I took a life inventory to see if I was making the right decisions about my finances.
What I learned about
You can certainly manage your finances on your own. Most of us are. Like me, you can do your own research by sifting though educational sources such as financial websites, blogs and books, reading newspaper articles, and watching interviews of financial experts. It can take a lot of time to sort through all the information and stay on top trends. It’s like a second job. To be successful in something, you can’t just do it blindly. You need to put in a genuine effort. Do you have time to do that? Would you want to spend the time on that, or would you prefer to relax with a glass wine while watching the sun set? I’ll choose wine. You may choose the beverage that you prefer.
You may need to hire a CFI(tm) financial planner.
Working with a CFP (r), professional can be a great benefit. They will help you develop a customized financial plan, and more importantly, they will help you remain disciplined when executing the plan. Your finances are a key part of achieving your goals in life. They can act as a financial doctor, prescribing a plan to grow your money into a healthy, balanced and strong adult.
