Sweet, tart and bubbly – this Caramel Apple Cider Mimosa recipe makes an irresistibly refreshing cocktail for your fall party, Thanksgiving brunch or holiday gathering!
Traditional mimosas typically use just two ingredients: orange juice and champagne or sparkling wine.
As this recipe draws its inspiration from autumn flavors, apple cider is used instead of orange juice and we add a dash of caramel-flavored whiskey for extra depth and complexity.
If you can’t locate any caramel-flavored whiskey, here are a few alternatives in the “Tips” section below.
Ingredients of Mimosas Champagne (or other sparkling wines such as cava or prosecco), apple cider (not apple juice), caramel-flavored whiskey and fresh apple slices such as honey crisp or granny smith are required for making delicious mimosas! But they’re easy to make too!
Simply combine 2 ounces of apple cider with 0.55 ounces (equivalent to one tablespoon) of caramel-flavored whiskey in your champagne glass and stir.
Top it all off with four ounces of champagne and some apple slices as garnish. That’s it – delicious bubbly apple goodness!
For a sweeter cocktail, increase the apple cider content while decreasing champagne intake.
How to Create Apple Garnishes
In order to make apple garnishes, cut each apple in four slices that lie parallel with and around its core.
Cut each section of fabric into very thin 1/16th of an inch slices. Take three or four of these and insert decorative toothpicks.
Before serving, place one or more apple garnishes atop each glass.
